COP30 — The United Nations Climate Change Conference 2025 — takes place from November 10th to 21st, for the first time in the Brazilian Amazon Region. After two years, the conference will take place again in a democratic country, this time of the Global South, with expectations of broad social participation.

About: A dialogue among philanthropic organizations from the Global South on financing for food systems. The session, under the framework of Casa Sul Global, highlights how collaborative philanthropy is essential for socio-environmental justice, food sovereignty, and a just transition in Brazil and the region.

10:00 AM | From Commitment to Practice: Family Farming in the Implementation of the Paris Agreement

About: This panel will discuss the role of family farming in implementing Brazil’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in dialogue with the Paris Agreement and the experiences of other NDCs. It will emphasize the interdependence between mitigation and adaptation in food systems within the context of international cooperation. Beyond access to climate finance, the discussion will analyze the means of implementation established by multilateral instruments such as the Green Climate Fund (GCF), Global Environment Facility (GEF), and mechanisms under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
