Kevelyn Oliveira (Kel) is an illustrator and graphic designer. Since 2014, he has worked as a designer in advertising and in the publishing industry, where he illustrates children’s and young adult books.
His interdisciplinary approach stands out for its versatility in adapting his visual language to different media, using illustration, photography, and painting. Through his work, he seeks to reflect his experiences as a Black person from the urban periphery, introducing elements that symbolically engage with Afro-surrealism.
As an illustrator, he has received two “Highly Recommended” distinctions from the FNLIJ — the Brazilian Foundation for Children’s and Young People’s Books — and was awarded at the Brazil Design Awards in the graphic design and illustration categories.
