Jesus Credo and Izzy Credo are the Irmãos Credo, a duo of artists from Goiás who draw inspiration from the popular culture of the countryside of Goiás, its religious festivals, and its rituals. The brothers base their work on the aesthetics of simple life, centered on Black communities, engaging in dialogue with Brazilian Afrofuturism. Active for four years, the duo creates urban interventions and prints their art on a variety of surfaces.
Among the illustrations produced for Instituto Ibirapitanga, the first was developed to be featured on a gift for partners, and the second pays tribute to the quilombola leader from Brazil’s Central-West region, Tereza de Benguela.
